Tawana Petty better known as Honeycomb on stage, has been writing poetry since 2nd grade.

However, Honeycomb just recently begin taking her words to audiences via performance poetry approximately 3 years ago. In that short time, she has performed at events such as the 1st Annual Focus Hope Black Marriage Day Celebration, the International Black Expo where she was fortunate to open for Comedian/Activist Dick Gregory, the 2008 Ribs n Soul Festival in Detroit, the 175th Annual Emancipation Day Festival in Canada, the 2008 Literary Arts Gala at The Charles H. Wright Museum where she was able to share the stage with Jessica Care-Moore, opened for singer L'Renee, co-hosted Poetic Vibrations radio program on 88.1 FM and has been featured on Comcast Cable, to name a few.

Honeycomb has also been the featured artist at several venues in the City of Detroit including but not limited to, The Artist Village, The Upper Room, The Uptown Eatery, The Hunter's Supper Club, They Say, The Magnolia Key Club, Uptown Eatery, The Silver Garden, 1515 Broadway, Lola's, the legendary Cliff Bell's, etc.

Honeycomb prides herself on having always written from her soul and is confident that by doing so her contributions help to change the lives of others as well as her own for the better.
