For Cycle 4 Thesis "Lulu's Lunchbox" directed by Alice Tsui

Logline: How much of ourselves are we willing to change for the sake of fitting in? "Lulu's Lunchbox" is a coming of age drama about college student Lulu as she reconciles her desire for acceptance from friends and feeling disconnected from her family and Chinese culture. When Lulu goes home over winter break to visit her family, she must accept her own identity.
LULU (Female 19-24) Asian-American. Must be able to speak some Mandarin. College student Lulu is conflicted about her identity, and consequently is a social chameleon. Lulu would do anything for those she admires. She is desperately trying to escape her culture and family for the sake of fitting in at school, but she still feels like an outsider. When returns home, Lulu is embarrassed she can't speak Chinese as well as she used to.
RUBY (Female 18 to play 15) Asian-American. MUST be fluent in Mandarin. Ruby is Lulu's bubbly younger sister, and is outgoing to the point where people find her eccentric. She chooses to stay close to her family and finds comfort in them.
MICHELLE (Female 19-24) Any ethnicity. Though a sophomore in college, Michelle is mentally stuck in her immature high school ways. Her friend group is her kingdom, and she is the queen.
Michelle is always trying to prove herself and stay popular, but she's also secretly very insecure.
ALEX (19-24) Female. Caucasian. Alex is a college sophomore and Lulu's roommate. She is comfortable in her own skin and not phased by the opinions of others. Alex is blunt and doesn't really consider other people's opinions before speaking.
