A New Musical but Not Just Another One - Non- AEA / Non - Union

Show Runs: March 31 - April 29, 2017 (for 5 weeks) - runs Thurs. - Sundays. 4 shows per week (20 performances total).
Auditions: Oct. 19 - 22, 2016. Bring 1 Song and dancing shoes. Accompanist will be supplied or bring CD of music.
Callbacks: Nov. 11 - 12, 2016. Bring song and dancing shoes.
Rehearsal Dates: Dec. 1st - begin some song & dance rehearsals based on availability. On January 3, 2017, Rehearsals will begin for the full company. Time TBA.
Rates or Stipends are listed by each role - note that of the talent's pay will be paid on Opening Night and the remaining half will be paid On - Closing Night.
All Characters/Roles performers are to sing, act & some dance:
MEN - 7 & WOMEN - 5. Interested in all ethnicities. Non-Equity contract.
1.) DAVID - 60s - 70s. (SING & SOME MINIMAL DANCE) Suave, charismatic, debonair. Oozes charm. Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
2.) KAY - 60s - 70s tightly wound, pedantic. (SING & SOME MINIMAL DANCE) Married to David. Sarcastic and needling. Observant. Logical, responsible, efficient, impatient, low tolerance for others' stupidities and lack of responsibility. Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
3.) SHERRY - 55 - 70s - (SING & DANCE) Compassionate, warm, sensitive, caring. Attractive. Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
4.) BOB - Irish (SING & MINIMAL DANCE) His 60-70s Working class guy who bought Apple early and forgot he had it. Spontaneous, playful, nothing is ever his fault, famous for "Yes, but _____." He's a fun curmudgeon. Not in good health. High blood pressure, bad heart. Also plays POST-DEATH BOB after getting killed-off in Act I. Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
5.) HOWARD - 60s - 70s, curmudgeon. Strong values. Private. Used to drink too much but sober now for a number of years. (SING & MINIMAL DANCE) Dresses conservatively, but worn. Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
6.) DWIGHT - 60s - 70s, nice guy. Ex-Army Colonel, worked with the CDC as a specialist. (SING & SOME MINIMAL DANCE) Always wanted to make a difference. Wanted to be somebody, and was. Devastated by forced retirement at 59. Timidity that comes with losing one's identity. . Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
7.) MIRANDA CUMMINGS, 30s - 40s, Ph.D. researcher doing post-doc work, pretty, business casual. Mid-west. (SING & DANCE) Deep insight into others behavior, trusting, caring, genuine empathy. Stipend for this ensemble role - $2500.00
9.) Mr. RAJNAVARDI - 60s -70s. Alzheimer's. Lucid once in a while, forgotten who he was and where he is. (1 monologue, 1 song) Wanders in and out of scenes. Group very kind to him. (1 SONG, NO DANCING) Stipend for role - $1000.00
10.) MRS. DINGLER - old - 60s - 80s. 1 scene. Shrunken, suit too big for her, pillbox hat, brooch, sensible shoes. Deadpan delivery. Speaks at wrong funeral. Dry sense of humor. (NO SINGING or dancing). Stipend of $500.00
11.) MARK - 20s - 40s - huckster. 1 scene. Infomercial-type delivery. Flamboyant. Pushy. And UNDERTAKER (SING and DANCE tap or clog, 1 song) Stipend for this role is $1000.00
12.) 2nd UNDERTAKER - DANCE tap or clog AND SING. 1 song. Stipend - $300
13.) HOMELESS WOMAN - Mid-30s to 60s. - Soulful. Ragged. On periphery of the action throughout the show. (1 SONG and chorus.) Must have strong vocal chops. Stipend for Homeless - $1000.00
14.) BOBBI - 20s, fitness instructor. Perky. (NO SINGING or DANCING). Stipend for this role is $500.00

Bring the following items with you to your audition:
1.) 2 copies of headshot with resumes attached
2.) Bring 2 completed casting forms provided by Casting Director.
Call or email to receive forms.
3.) You will receive sides from Mr. Warren by email. You will be auditioning for Nancy Capers, Director & co-writer; Hedges Capers, music & lyrics, and co-writer; and choreographer.
4.) Finally bring in a prepared piece of music that you can easily sing to during the following dates: Oct. 19 - 22, 2016. Be sure to get appointment time, unless you do not mind waiting!
5.) Bring 1 song (with sheet music or a CD) and dancing shoes. Accompanist will be supplied for those with sheet music who wish to sing with live accompaniment.
Remember to bring 2 filled out copies with your 2 headshots & a resume already attached to each of the photos, in addition with a hard copy of your sides & the sheet music for the accompanist or bring a CD play your track to you to sing too at the audition.

Note: Get your script before the audition & bring the hard copy along with your song - that you are going to sing - with the piano sheet music or with a CD PLAYER - We will have a pianist to accompany you for those who bring their piano sheet music- but there will be no CD Player- you will have to bring that if you are going to use it to sing too. Come blow us away... this is going to be a great comedic show - You'll love it!
REQUIREMENTS - PLEASE NOTE:
Submit only talent who can act, sing & some dance (there are only 2 roles where singing or dancing may not be required -please review each character's breakdown listed within this casting notice.
All Talent must audition on one of the days arranged and if chosen, be able to audition a second time at the call back. If hired, all talent must be available to meet the required rehearsals and performances as indicated within this casting breakdown - there are no exceptions to any of these conditions.
