Role: 3 females, 2 males (all varied age ranges) for on screen roles. 3 females, 2 males for voice acting.
Production Type: Indie
Run Time: Feature, about 80 mins
Compensation: Unpaid, but net points offered for principal cast
Audition Information: Non-traditional process. Preferred reference video of some routine showcasing abilities in martial arts, dancing, or gymnastics. Previous acting experience not necessary, though must have good attitude and not be camera shy.
Shooting Schedule: December (tentative)
Filming Location: Colorado, Denver/Boulder area
Project Description: A continuation of the short films, THE LEGEND OF THE DRAGON SWORD and THE RETURN OF THE DRAGON SWORD, this will be the first feature length installment in the series. The Dragon Sword series is an homage to classic Kung Fu films from the 70s and 80s, which we over the top in their delivery, yet charming in their presentation. The voices will all be dubbed over (intentionally poorly), so the on screen talent will be picked more on their physical capabilities than their acting experience. But, hey, no lines to memorize! A good and fun attitude is necessary. The fight choreography will be created by Noel Baterna, who is mostly stationed in Boulder, CO. Principal cast must work with him to learn and practice the choreography somewhat regularly until shooting is complete. Name drop: Alex Cox (of REPO MAN, SID & NANCY, and FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS fame) will be acting as Executive Producer AND actor in this film!
