Small Kid Time is a New York University graduate thesis short film by Laurie Arakaki. This is a coming-of-age family drama told through the eyes of a young Okinawan American girl growing up in 1970s Hawaii.
Seeking principal performers able to portray the following:
HIRO - Age range: 30s; Okinawan, A charming salesman whose easygoing nature is both an asset and a failing.
VIOLET - Age range: 30s; Okinawan, A stoic and proud woman who buries her feelings in order to keep her family together.
KIYOKO - Age range: 40s; Japanese, A restaurant hostess whose proper faade sometimes breaks down with certain male customers.
GRANDMA - Age range: 60s; Okinawan, A hardworking woman who softens for her grandchildren.
WAITRESS - Age range: 20s - 40s; Japanese.
