Musicians wanted for theatrical band.
Candy Towm is a clown-faced musical act, playing original material which draws stylistically from Kurt Weill, Tom Waits and the Beatles - the presentation theatrical, with elements of vaudeville and burlesque. The act has been around for six years, playing various clubs, theaters, festivals and galleries, building a little following as we go. As the band is theatrically oriented, I direct it like theatre and although I like to showcase the particular strengths of the musicians I work with, I should note that I'm not looking for any songwriting collaborators.
I have too much material of my own which I'm eager to unpack!
Because of the nature of the act, we're looking not only for traditional pop instrumentalists (guitar, bass, drums), but also for the less traditional ones (cello, clarinet, mallet instruments, etc).
You get a pretty clear idea of our style from by following the link to the audition video we shot for NPR last year, despite it's being a sit-down performance.
