Seeking Upright Bassist For Swing Jazz/Western Swing Band.
Clyde Bisbee & The Wheelhouse Revelers is a new swing jazz/western swing band playing dance music of the 20's, 30's and 40's. We're currently 6 pieces as follows: Rhythm gtr, lead gtr, upright bass, piano, lap steel and drums. Hoping to add 1 or 2 horns to the mix shortly. Unfortunately, our current upright bassist is leaving the band so we are in need of, you guessed it, an upright bass player.
We're planning a relatively light gigging schedule of 2-3 gigs/mo, in the areas of NH, Southern Maine, Mass North Shore and perhaps further depending on the gig. We're looking to generally avoid the bar scene and favor festivals, dance halls and listening rooms. We also dress in vintage/vintage-inspired clothes onstage to create a "step back in time" experience for the audience. Playing songs from the greats such as Louis Armstrong, Bob Wills, Fats Waller, Milton Brown, Louis Prima, etc. Inspired by modern acts such as Pokey LaFarge.

So, if you're a talented upright bassist and the above sounds interesting to you, please call or text.
