Casting call for short film set to shoot in late September
The Purple Water
Synopsis: In a dystopian world where the air is highly polluted, people have to wear face masks outside. May is able to live under water due to some mutations. She returns to the land to visit her 8 year old son, Max. She finds that Max is very sick and Max's father, Lenny, has signed him up for an experimental treatment that is highly risky. She decides to take Max with her to the water so Max will survive. But she has to find a way to do it without Lenny stopping her.
This is going to be a graduate thesis film. We are looking for speaking roles:
Lenny, male, age 32-42, father of Max. He takes care of his son alone. Left no choices in hospital, Lenny signs Max up for an experimental treatment that is highly risky.
May, female, age 32-42, mother of Max. She wants to take her son to live with her in the water so he can survive.
Doctor Kerlow, female, age 40-60. She is Max's doctor and helps Lenny to sign up for the experimental treatment.
