We Announce Auditions for "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward
Callbacks (as needed) on Monday, Nov. 28 at 7:00 PM.
Selected sides from Blithe Spirit will be used for auditions - no prepared monologue required.
Rehearsals are Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights. Read-through scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4. Performances are Feb. 3, 4, 10, 11 & 12, 2017
The play concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a seance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the seance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles's marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.
Charles Condomine (35-50) - a novelist. Charles is bright, sophisticated, articulate, and debonair but somewhat at the mercy of his wives, present and past. His dabbling in spiritualism comes about only because he's planning using it as a subject for a novel which is what leads Charles to set up a seance. He is skeptical at first but becomes a reluctant true believer when the ghost of his first wife actually appears-and stays.
Dr. George Bradman (40's/50's) - is a good friend of the Condomines who is invited to dinner and the seance. He is entirely skeptical of anything to do with the occult but tries his utmost to go along with the proceedings for the sake of
