We will be having open auditions for Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. The show will run from February 3 to February 19, 2017.
Callbacks to be held on Sunday, November 6 from 6:00 - 11:00 p.m.
Death of a Salesman addresses loss of identity and a man's inability to accept change within himself and society. The play is a montage of memories, dreams, confrontations, and arguments, all of which make up Willy Loman's life.
Familiarity with the play will be a great advantage to you at the auditions. You will be reading scenes from the play for the open call. Listed ages are approximate for all characters except Linda, Biff and Happy.
*PLEASE NOTE: The role of WILLY LOMAN has already been cast.
BIFF LOMAN (M-34) Willy's elder son. He struggles to find his true self and also understand the nature of the love for his father.
HAPPY LOMAN (M-32) Willy's younger son. He is popular with the ladies and he dreams of corporate success and wealth.
CHARLEY (M - mid 50s to mid 60's) Willy's next-door neighbor and friend. He is a successful businessman, always trying to keep things light.
BERNARD (M-32) Charley's son; also Biff and Happy's childhood friend. He is a successful lawyer in his own right.
UNCLE BEN (M - late 50s or older) Willy's successful brother who found wealth by exploring Africa. A commanding presence.
HOWARD WAGNER (M-30 to mid-40s) Willy's boss. He inherited the business from his father and has little respect for Willy.
STANLEY (M-Any age) The waiter at Frank's Chop House.
Some roles may be doubled.
Rehearsals will probably be two weeknights from 7-10 and one weekend rehearsal, probably Sunday evening. Specifics to be determined once the show is cast. Auditions are on a first come/first serve basis. No audition appointments are necessary. No paid stipends will be available. Questions can be addressed by calling.
