Auditions for Community Theater Production of "A Christmas Carol".
Please prepare one 60-90 second monologue, comedic or dramatic.
The language of A Christmas Carol falls in between classical and contemporary. We suggest auditioning with a "semi-classical" piece, something ranging between late 1700's to early 1900's. But for those more comfortable with a modern piece, please feel free to perform a contemporary monologue.
We also encourage preparing 1-2 stanzas from either Christmas song listed below. Be prepared to sing acapella (no sheet music necessary) within whatever key you see fit.
Christmas Songs: Silent Night OR O Holy Night.
Many Characters will be cast in multiple roles. Looking (but not limited to) people who can sing and harmonize in order to create a chorus of carolers to perform throughout the play.
The Ghost of Christmas Present - (mid 20's - late 40's, gender neutral) bold, merry, larger than life personality.
The Ghost of Christmas Past - (teen to 20's/30s, gender neutral) child-like, soft, gentle, whimsical.
Mrs. Cratchit - (mid/late 30's to mid 40's) warm, doting mother, wife of Cratchit.
Fred's Wife - (20's to 30's) fun, bold
Belle - (20-35) beautiful, strong, leaves Scrooge in his youth because of his greed.
