Patio/Porch are two shows that take place in separate locations. Patio is set in the backyard of a Texas home. It finds Pearl, the younger sister, preparing a going away party for her older sister Jewel, who is bored with small town life. The show reveals more and more sisterly differences and empty dreams from each of their lives. Porch introduces us to Dot, an elderly ill women, and Lucille, her daughter. Through vivid dialogue, we see the quiet desperation that besets them both.
Jewel: (F 30's-40's) seemly more grounded then her sister, but not necessarily so.
Pearl: (F 30's) a dreamer, jealous of her sister who is leaving.
*Southern/Texas accents will be required for the show, but will not be asked for at the audition*
Dot: (F 70's) sickly old women, jaded, fed up with "modern life" will be in a wheel chair for the show.
Lucille: (F 40's) daughter of Dot, keeps her mother company begrudgingly. Must be comfortable in a bathing suit.
*Parts can be double cast between Impromptu and Patio/Porch*
There will be minimal rehearsals around the holidays with the primary rehearsal schedule starting up after the New Year.
