We are proud to announce auditions for the first production of 2017
"The Mountaintop" written by Katori Hall
The Mountaintop is a soul-stirring fictional depiction of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s last night on earth. After delivering one of his most memorable speeches, an exhausted King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel. A visit from the feisty hotel maid compels him to confront his own doubts, destiny and legacy.
The Mountaintop premiered in London and won the 2010 Olivier Award for Best New Play. In 2011, Samuel L. Jackson made his Broadway debut in the role of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater and Angela Bassett was his co-star. The dramatic storytelling gives insight into King, the man, and reaches a pinnacle that will leave audiences breathless.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - African-American civil rights leader, 39, who is portrayed as a "regular" man with fears, doubts and vulnerabilities.
