Theater Company is seeking transgender, gender non-confirming, and gender-fluid actors. Must be 18 years old or older to audition. Pending equity approval.
JAMIE (19-21): Open ethnicity. Transgender woman. Graceful, a leader, responsible, intelligent, has a real dignity and is looking for a better life. She has been in the house for 1.5 years--the baby of the bunch. She was the closest (the number one child) to Gina, the group's street mother, who is brutally murdered.
ANGELA (19-21): Latina. Transgender woman. She is unrefined, sharp-tongued, unapologetic, and in your face. She is a drug addict. She is the oldest and has been in the house for 2.5 years.
SYNOPSIS: Jamie, Terrence and Angela are the street family, or children of the House Of Diamonte, named after their street mother Gina Diamonte, whose body was recently found in a dumpster. Much of the play revolves around the Hudson River Piers on The West Side Highway near Christopher Street. The piers served as a gathering place for runaway gay and transgender youth during that time.
DURATION: October 25, 2016 - December 17, 2016
