We are excited to announce open auditions for a unique and modern production of Stephen Schwartz' and John-Michael Tebelak's GODSPELL.
The production team seeks a DIVERSE ensemble of men, women. ASL trained actors, actors utilizing wheel chairs, and other differently- abled performers are encouraged to audition. Each actor must bring his or her individual personality traits to the character. Ability to harmonize and vocally improvise are a must!
Age ranges, types and ethnicities are open.
Jesus - Male, high Tenor G#; the driving force of the show. The one with the most energy, humor, and will-power. Gentle but with strength. The type of person others naturally follow.
Judas/John the Baptist - Male, Baritone E. Must portray attributes of both biblical characters; he is Jesus' "right-hand man" and most devoted disciple and then doubter and - ultimately - the betrayer. Charismatic, like Jesus, but in a revolutionary way. The most "serious" of the group, but must still possess a good sense of physical comedy.
All auditioners are asked to prepare one complete CONTEMPORARY musical theatre song, and to bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. Songs from the show are acceptable, if the auditioner is wishing to be considered for that solo in the show. Dress comfortably and be prepared to dance/move. Please bring a current headshot and resume.
Rehearsals are expected to begin in late December, and run 3 times per week until the show's opening. Actors will not be called to all rehearsals, however due to the show being extremely ensemble focused, excessive conflicts may not be able to be honored. To be considered for a featured role please bring any known conflicts to auditions.
3/24, 25, 31, 4/1, 7, 8, 14, 15 at 8 PM
3/26, 4/2, 9 at 2 PM
Please email to reserve an audition day/time, or with any questions you may have.
We hope to see you there!
