Video Game Cover Band needs Bassist or Lead Instrumentalist.
Gimmick! Video Game Rock Band is looking for a fourth member!
We've been around for almost 4 years, and we exclusively play instrumental covers of video game music. Think Mario or Megaman on guitars. It's a thing!
Our bassist is leaving us at the end of this year, and we need to fill the spot! One of our lead guitarists (me) is also an accomplished bassist, so if a suitable bassist isn't found, I can move over to bass position and that will leave my position open for a lead instrumentalist to take over.
By the way, while our setup is dual lead guitars, bass, and drums, we're willing to entertain the idea of a lead instrumentalist that isn't guitar. Play something really well that would fit in? Please text.
Our needs should probably be apparent, but I'll run it down anyway: need to be enthusiastic about video game music (you WILL not enjoy This Kind Of Band if you don't have a predilection for 8-bit bloops), positive attitude, able to play gigs and practice before them (we don't do the "weekly practice" thing unless something's coming up) and be available to play local shows every now and then and about 2 or 3 out-of-state shows (we play conventions sometimes). The most important thing: be able to learn and perform VERY precise and technically demanding melodies (or basslines).
Follow the link to a playlist of our performances, both good and bad. Newest (best) stuff is towards the bottom.
