Acting, Theater, Voice-Over, Singing
I operate in comedy mostly: character voices, really horrible accents (British, German, Russian, French, East Indian, cheerleader, old man, ???), and skits in my head that I think are hilarious. My humor is like that episode of "The Simpsons" when they had Mary Poppins on. Yeah, I totally predicted she was going into the airplane engine at the end.
I've done computer work for a LONG time, actually writing software. I was in the Navy for a few years right out of high school, so I know enough to COMPLETELY be offended when an on-screen salute isn't executed properly. Such a simple gesture, and when it looks bad, it's (in my mind) pretty disrespectful. And it cheapens the show. (Slight rant.)
I know how to line dance, have been told I move pretty well in general on the dance floor. "So You Think You Can Dance" isn't going to see me anytime soon, but I operate pretty well in the everyday world of dancing.
I sang for a few shows with a men's choral group in San Diego, had a blast. I like to sing entertaining and funny songs (read: "show tunes") as well as some country songs, folk songs, some R&B in the realm of "Cracked" from Pentatonix. (They rock!)
I'm also a Maker: I work on art and DIY projects using "scratch" materials as much as possible. Some things you just have to buy, but I try to re-use materials as much as I can. I belong to a workshop called MakerPlace that provides access to some pretty cool (and pretty standard) tools and machinery as well as to other Makers who are doing some phenomenal stuff. Always great to meet new people, learn and/or teach something, and maybe collaborate on projects.
