Todd is the brother of one of this countries great drummers, Mickey Curry. Mickey once said to Todd:
"If you sell one of your songs, any song, for any reason, I'll pay off your mortgage".
Todd's response was: "If I sell any one of my songs, I could most likely pay off my own damn mortgage".
Todd considers himself to be an okay singer, moderately cool sax and flute player. He's also a song writer, published author, and considers himself a pretty scary pilot, oh, and a damn good looking man.
Despite his humor, most people don't realize that Todd is a decorated retired Police Detective Sargent, whose accomplishments far-surpass many in this line of work. Many of his accomplishments, where he gained professional notoriety and respect, were achieved while he worked as a Police patrol dog handler, as a Covert Narcotics and Anti-terrorism investigator, as well as a Criminal Analyst and instructor.
One of seven brother who all have the musical gene, he began playing the sax and flute when he was 10. He then joined the service and spent 6 years working Undercover Narcotics with the Military Police Corp. and Criminal Investigations Division. Todd lived a covert life "Playing a part" portraying people from all walks of life in order to accomplish his mission. (acting as a junkie, homeless person, drug dealer, hitman, insane person, con artist, body guard and jokester). His acting was in real life and on several occasions, his acting saved his life. He left the service and became a Police Officer, retiring in 2006.
It was not until 2013 that he decided to get involved in writing, and back into music. It's ironic and hard to believe that after a 37 year hiatus, he has easily managed to jump back into it.
His songs vary in genre, which is unique. He has often said: "I'm not looking to write a #1 hit. I'm simply documenting my life story though music. You're either gonna like them or not. My only intent is to get one of these songs put in a commercial or movie and then get recognized to play the part of a famous musician. It's not about money; it's about being remembered after I'm gone....what better way to be remembered?"
