Golf @ batting range. Avg. distance 225yds. Bellydancing. I grew up around bands and singers because my mother managed a 5 pc instrumental band; five guys and five girls as singers. She rehearsed them and dressed them and also arranged gigs for them. This is where my imitative skills were developed. I have a good ear, and can harmonize even in dissonance. I've worked on the HBO TV special, The Corner as a Restaurant Crowd Member and The Wire, as Teacher on Fieldtrip w/ Children; on the movie, The Replacements as A Passerby on The Street, (and my old car was used as the Stunt Car); on Along Came A Spider, a Passenger on Train.
My theater experience has been completely volunteer, as I was never paid. I joyfully participated in Laurel's Main Street Community Theater. I worked as a Costumer for the on-stage talent in Our Town and Black Coffee.
In High School, I competed in the yearly Talent Show. I sang a duet and we got 2nd place. After graduating I searched the Washington Post and found Andalusia, the band that began the 9:30 Club. I became their lead singer and later I went to a 3 pc ansemble group consisting of the bass player (as lead); the drummer and myself. We were Milk & Honey and we were each able to solo; we could perform duets and three part harmony. We were "As good as the best and better than the rest".
