Auditions for Shasta College's Production "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg".
This March, Shasta College is producing Peter Nichols dark comedy A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. The play centers on a British couple, Bri and Sheila, who are struggling to save their marriage while trying to raise their only child, a small girl named Josephine, who suffers with cerebral palsy. Caring for her has occupied nearly every moment of her parents' lives since her birth, taking a heavy toll on their marriage. Bri and Sheila use humor and comedy to process the journey of being parents of a disabled child. A Day in the Death of Joe Egg is a hilarious and a moving look at love and marriage. Written by Peter Nichols in 1967 the play comes from the playwright's own experiences of caring for his own son. The play is frequently revived and won the Tony Award for Best Revival in 1985.
