Auditions for "Next to Normal"
"Next to Normal", explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, "Next to Normal" was also chosen as "one of the year's ten best shows" by critics around the country, including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Performances of "Next to Normal" are April 19, 20, 21, 26, and 27 at 8pm, and April 22 and 28 at 2pm.
Callbacks: Sunday, December 17, 12-8pm (exact times TBD).
Preparing for auditions:

Please download and fill out audition form attached and bring it with you to the audition.
Please bring a headshot and resume to the initial audition, if available.
Prepare 32 bars of an up-tempo number in the style of the show (rock-pop) that showcases your vocal range.
Prepare one monologue of 60-90 seconds. You may be asked to read this after your vocal selection.
Please bring sheet music to the audition; an accompanist will be provided. Callbacks may include a dance or movement portion.
Dad's an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family's story with love, sympathy and heart.
Rehearsals will begin Monday, March 5 and will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 7-10p and Sunday afternoons from 2:30-5:30p. Actors must be available for tech all day Sat April 14 and Sun April 15 and every night April 16-18. Performances are April 19, 20, 21, 26, and 27 at 8pm, and April 22 and 28 at 2pm.
Depending on your role, you may not be required to be present at every rehearsal. The schedule will be planned with care to ensure that you are only called when needed for that particular night's scene work. Please be sure to list all conflicts on the audition form.
