Auditions for "Dancing at Lughnasa" by Brian Friel.
During one glorious summer's end in 1936, as Europe is poised on the verge of terrible change, the Mundy family shelters in their cottage just outside the small village of Ballybeg, Donegal in Ireland. Five un-married sisters, their brother Jack, a missionary just returned from Uganda and Michael, the son of Christina, the youngest sister. The arrival of Michael's father, a Welsh man, Gerry Evans, on his way to fight for Franco in Spain, unleashes repressed passion on the eve of the Festival of Lughnasa and the Eden of Ballybeg is transformed. A memory play, told from the perspective of an adult Michael, this multi award-winning drama, recognized as a masterpiece, portrays the strength and bravery of five women who choose to dance wildly in a final celebration of their lives.
Rehearsals will start last week in September.
Show Dates: November 8-11 and 15-18.
