"The Hunchback of Notre Dame" Auditions.
Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the award-winning Disney animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame features an epic musical score, love story, and lessons of acceptance and true heroism. The bells of Notre Dame sound through the Paris cathedral while Quasimodo, watches from above. Raised and held captive by the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, Quasimodo escapes and joins the crowd below. All but the beautiful gypsy, Esmeralda, treat him cruelly. While several suitors vie for the attention of Esmerelda, Frollo decides to take down all gypsies, leaving it up to Quasimodo to change their fate.
Actors of all ethnicities with strong vocal, acting, and dance abilities are encouraged to audition. Please bring an actor resume and headshot to be submitted for review. Actors auditioning are required to bring marked sheet music of 16-32 bars. Acapella auditions will not be accepted. An accompanist will be present. The score will also be available. Please dress accordingly for a dance portion following vocal auditions.
Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm beginning in late July. Tech week will run October 15-19. Attendance is mandatory.
Performance dates are: October 20 at 10am, October 20 at 7:30pm, October 21 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, October 22 at 2pm.
