Casting Powerful, Ruthless Billionaire Businessman for our film, "To Avenge". We have had some great applicants submit to this role, but we looking for someone who truly stands out as sophisticated and wealthy with a touch of arrogance and an air of aristocracy. We are looking for the perfect candidate to portray Clayton Danvers.
Clayton Danvers is a man with few peers. He has friends in high places and even they seek his counsel on a regular basis. He carries himself in a way that says he is above it all and he is quite accustomed to getting his own way in both his business dealings and personal life. No one says no to Clayton Danvers. That is his station in life - a sense of entitlement that yields ruthless behavior and actions in all aspects of his life.
The actor who plays this role must assume the identity of Clayton Danvers. You must be capable of becoming Clayton Danvers in order to be believable in the role. To give you some idea of who were going for here, we'll provide a few examples that might speak to Clayton Danvers overall look, his speech and his demeanor.
Actor John forsythe played Blake Carrington in the 80's TV series "Dynasty". Clayton Danvers would look and carry himself with a similar air of wealth and power. Actor Gary Sinese portrayed a wealthy attorney in a made for TV Christmas film called "fallen Angel". While unlike Clayton Danvers, his character was kind - he conducted himself with an air of confidence and sophistication in that role that I would like to see in Clayton Danvers. Another example would be actor Eric Roberts who played a ruthless attorney in a made for TV film called "Class".
The projected start date to begin filming is Spring/April 2018.
PLEASE NOTE: We will be filming on the East Coast in Ocean City, Maryland and the surrounding resort towns of Fenwick Island, Slaughter Beach and Lewes, DE with additional scenes shooting in Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE.
We are casting for the key role of wealthy and powerful business man, Clayton Danvers for our feature film entitled, To Avenge. He is more "James Bond" than "Jim Belushi". We are looking for a fresh batch of candidates to broaden our search for the right look for this important role.
Film Title: "To Avenge".
Background: Clayton is married to Abigail Danvers. They have two sons - Jason, and Jameson, who goes by James.
Their children have been raised in wealth and privilege and now have a sense of entitlement and superiority that leads them, along with their two friends to commit a terrible crime against a young woman while she's visiting her family's Ocean City, Maryland summer home. Because of the Danvers' family's deep pockets and powerful connections, her boys have learned from experience that they can pretty much get away with anything.
When their sons are charged with rape, Clayton and Abigail Danvers are not interested in hearing the facts. They have no concern for the victim whatsoever. Their only goal is get the charges dropped and "make this thing go away". They support their sons without question and will do whatever it takes to make sure they go free - and to keep the family name from being tarnished with such a scandal.
Both Mr and Mrs Danvers are well connected politically. After learning his sons are being charges with rape, kidnapping and a host of other charges, Jameson Danvers makes a phone call to an unidentified person telling them directly, "take care of this for me, Bill - Make this go away". The following day the district attorney is contacted and told not to move forward with the grand jury case and to make sure all the charges are dropped due to lack of evidence - or his career is over. Along with intimidation, the DA is further blackmailed into taking this action by a threat to reveal a recent marital infidelity.
Due to pressure from outside the DA''s office, the argument is made that since the victim (Vera) was not physically beaten and because the nature of the acts involved during the incident could be construed as "consensual", Vera is told in the eyes of the law, there was no rape. Her four attackers are released from custody and the Danvers walk out with their sons - ensuring that their boys go unpunished and their accuser, Vera sees no justice for what was done to her.
